Day 1: Depart from the Rio Grande Valley this morning, clearing Mexican customs at Reynosa.
Thanks to the new toll road, before you can say "Maravilloso" you'll arrive at the beautiful Horsetail Falls, a lovely little place of whispering waters and lush trees. Then visit a jewel of a little colonial village, Santiago, with antique buildings restored to their original charm. It's a perfect escape for city dwellers longing for the country. You'll visit Los Cavazos Market on the return.
It's only a few miles to downtown Monterrey. You'll visit the Glass Factory, Cuauhtemoc Brewery, Glass Museum, and Museum of Mexian History. Then arrive at your host hotel, Grand Hotel Ancira and enjoy your Welcome Cocktail together with a Musical Serenade.
Day 2: After a delicious breakfast begin the day with a tour of the city including the Governor's Palace, the pretty cathedral on the Gran Plaza, one of the largest plazas in the world, a stop at the silver shop, and a drive up to the Bishop's Palace. Arrive in the Rio Grande Valley around 6:30pm (Breakfast Included) |
